Sitting by a pond on a clear blue sky day. Having food and watching otters swim. Few more miles then crashing out.

Hiking into Pearsburg today. Stayed at Woodshole last night. What a place. Right out of a fairy tale. The owner worked for the Dept. of the Interior and studied the introduced elk population during the 40’s. The home is late 19th Century. What a home with a great view of the valley.

Walked another 20 miles today. Lots of rocks. Meeting Hicks and Grubs for a couple days – trying to credit some miles. Looking forward to seeing familiar faces.

Walked across the ridge on Sinking Creek Mountain. The northern most spot on the trail where the route crosses the Eastern Continental Divide. Very cool view. Rained today – lucky to get off the ridge line before the thunder and lightening.

Thanks for the kind greetings from home. Miss everybody and thinking of Joe and his family.
